The end of 2021 is nearing and so far I've read 12 books. I need to hurry up and finish three books, in order to reach my Goodreads goal this year! You might be thinking: wasn't your goal 20 books? Yes, but I realized that 20 was a little too optimistic. So my goal is now 15 books!
Halfway through 2021 I did the Mid-year Book Check-In Tag, so that means I also have do the End of the year book tag! I also did this tag last year.
This tag was created on BookTube by Ariel Bissett, but I found this tag through Jessethereader!
1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I hope to finish a Dutch book named 'De Zwendelprins' this year. It's a hardcover, which is hard to take with me when I travel to school/my internship. So it's hard to find the time to read it. Hopefully I have some more free time in the evenings during my internship.
2. Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Sadly not. As I've said last year, I don't really pay attention to that. I read what I wanna read, when I wanna read it. So no autumnal book this year! Maybe I'll ask people for some autumn book recommendations next year!
3. Is there a new release you're still waiting for?
I'm usually not up-to-date with releases. Every year I write a blog post in which I make a big list of books that come out in that year. But then I end up forgetting about those books. I usually get reminded of them when I see friends post about its book birthday! However, I just searched the internet and that's when I realized that Here's to Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is coming out on December 28th. I haven't read the book that came before this one (What If it's Us), but I've heard good things about both. I'm excited to be hyped about this book and then not read it for the coming years. Because that's the life of a booklover...
4. What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
1. De Zwendelprins by Rima Orie (Dutch)
2. Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann
3. Cress by Marissa Meyer
5. Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?
De Zwendelprins by Rima Orie, because so far I'm really liking it! It's a high fantasy inspired by Indian culture. I think that this book could possibly become my favorite book of the year (if I finish it in time, that is).
6. Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?
Yes! Next year I will be lowering my TBR, to avoid stressing about not reaching my TBR. I want zero TBR panic next year. Halfway through this year I was like: nooo, I have so many books to read and so little time. But reading is about having fun and not about reaching a goal. My 2022 TBR is already planned to release on January 1st 2021! It is going to be the same TBR as last year, so not very new.
If you want to do this tag, I'm hereby tagging you! Make sure to let me know on Instagram so that I can read your post.
