Movie talk: The Sun is also a Star

Updated: Dec 22, 2020

After having to wait for the movie adaptation of The Sun is also a Star to come out for what felt like forever, I finally got to see it on saturday!

Natasha is on the verge of being deported back to her place of birth, Jamaica and Daniel is on his way to get accepted into Dartmouth.

Daniel believes in faith and Natasha believes in science.

When they are both on their way to an appointment, they meet and start talking about faith, which Natasha doesn't believe.

Daniel is determined to prove Natasha that faith had brought them together...

The Sun is also a Star was a good movie. It wasn't the best YA adaptation, but it was good.

Some storylines were cut out and the ending was different, which was a bummer.

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant about Charles Melton portraying Daniel, but he surprised me. I liked him as Daniel.

Yara Shahidi as Natasha was just perfect, but I knew that already. She was perfectly cast.

To conclude this review: the book was way better, but the movie was also fun. I still recommend you watch the movie (after reading the book of course)!

The Sun is also a Star hit theaters on may 16th in The Netherlands and in the US on may 17th.
