This summer I went to Hungary and whenever I go to a different country, I have to visit a book store!

In this case I went to more than one bookstore. That's why I decided to share my experience going to Hungarian bookstores!

First off I would like to say how beautiful Hungary is! The nature is pretty and they have very good Hungarian goulash soup!

Anyway, the first bookstore I went to was a bookstore in a village. So, the people there didn't really speak English. What I love about local bookstores abroad is the whole atmosphere. It just looked really cosy and cute.

Because it didn't sell English books, I left quickly after I got in. I did take some pictures inside.

The second bookstore I visited was in Budapest. Before going to Hungary I investigated the internet to find a foreign language bookstore. So, when I was in Budapest I went to visit that store.

The bookstore is also a cafe. People go there to study, work or eat some little pastries.

They sell - I'm assuming - second hand books, because they looked used. I actually thought they selled new books, so when I arrived there I was a little bummed out. It wasn't particularly close to where I was staying.

But I totally loved how the bookstore looked. You really felt at home. The employees were friendly and could speak English.

I didn't get something to eat there, so I can't tell you anything about the food. All of the tables in the little store/cafe were occupied when I visited.

At one point I felt a little awkward, because I was the only one browsing through the books, thus I left.

What I didn't know was that there was another bookstore - selling English books - a little closer to where I was staying.

So, because I hadn't visited enough book stores, I went there! The store was just a basic bookstore, but it was still a cute bookstore.

For some reason I didn't see the huge English books upstairs sign, so I wandered through the store. When I got to the English books section, I found a book about Hungarian fairy tales. I almost bought it, but it was just a little too pricey for a book with that amount of pages.

I left the story empty handed, but I did take some pictures from the inside.

You're probably expecting me to show you which books I bought in Hungary, but... I didn't buy a single book!

Did you buy any books this summer?

The picture shows the front of the bookstore in Hungary named Írók Boltja-Parnasszus Kiadó Kft.

The picture shows a big cart filled with books. It is probably a tiny bookstore on wheels. The name of the store is Könyvmentők.
This cart is a bookstore on wheels called Könyvmentők. So cute!
